Horry County Solid Waste Authority

The Horry County Solid Waste Authority landfill is located in Conway, SC. The Landfill Gas (LFG) to energy system was the first of its type in South Carolina. Santee Cooper generates approximately 3 megawatts (MW) of electricity from LFG. Principal Eric S. McGee has been involved with the project since 2001. McGee trained 3 generations, including the current Environmental Specialist, of LFG Field Technicians that operate and maintain the LFG system.

McGee Environmental, Inc. has provided LFG system maintenance services, training, sampling for laboratory analysis, and construction services for over 10 years.
